As usual we had breakfast at the villa and the girls enjoyed a swim in the pool. Alexis was keen to show off the coloured nails she had done yesterday.
Today's activity would be an excursion to the Bali Equestrian Centre which is only about 500m from our villas. Because it was so close, we set out on foot to walk there despite the fact there are no footpaths on the road. Along the way, we passed by the rice paddy fields.
It's quite a large complex with stables, indoor arenas, outdoor paddocks, pool, shop and cafe. It looked as though it would be an ideal place for events such as kids parties or lunches and dinners. There was obviously a big investment in the property.
Both girls needed to hire suitable shoes and trousers to be able to ride the horses. Amelia wanted a 30-minute ride whereas Alexis opted for a 15-minute ride followed by 15 minutes of horse grooming. The staff did a great job in looking after them both.
As planned, they led Alexis and her horse to the stables where they let her groom the horse including brushing his back, tail and mane. Next they let her clean his hooves. This was surprising for a little girl who is afraid to go near a dog let alone touch him.
Next they got her to pat the horse and to pat a nearby horse as well. But that wasn't all. They took her up to the other end of the stables where they got her to fill a bucket with grass and led her back to the horse where she fed the horse by hand.
At the end they got her to lead to horse back to the stables with the other horses and take off his bridle. It was quite an experience. I took a million photos because I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
In the afternoon, there was plenty of time to relax around the pool.
For dinner, we ordered a suckling pig. It was a meal with a difference but disappointing because the pork was hard to cut and not tasty.
