Suzy wasn't feeling well and so I went looking for somewhere for breakfast by myself. I decided to go to the Breve Cafe in Murray Street Mall near the hotel. It was a simple breakfast of poached eggs on toast.
Unlike yesterday there was no wind. It was already over 20C and they were forecasting a maximum temperature over 30C. Today we planned to go to Cottesloe Beach.
At about 1pm, we caught a Uber from our hotel. I'd never heard of Uber Comfort until a few days ago when I got an email offering me 20% off for a Uber Comfort ride. The discount meant it was cheaper than Uber X.
Peter our driver was excellent. He took us along the river and showed us the sites. Later he turned off the main road to take us down along the water's edge to show us suburbs where the rich and famous live. He told us that, apart from being a Uber driver, he runs a touring guide business. He literally went out of his way to show us points of interest on the way to Cottesloe.
The beach is obviously a very popular place - partly because it is school holidays. Many of the people there were young teenagers. The young girls were wearing skimpy bikinis but there were no topless women. It was a beautiful warm sunny day.
For lunch, we followed Peter's advice and went to the Il Lido restaurant which on the opposite side of the road overlooking the beach. It was excellent recommendation. We both had delicious fish dishes and I had a local beer.
The restaurant has an Italian theme including a very wide range of Italian wines. Even the salt comes for Italy. In fact, it comes from Trapani in Sicily. We'd visited the salt making company in Trapani when were there earlier this year.
After lunch we went back over the road to enjoy the sunshine and the holiday atmosphere. I went for a walk along the stone jetty that has nice views along the coast in both directions.
To return to the QT Perth hotel, we caught a Uber X. We were back by about 4:30pm.
For dinner, we decided to go to the Korean restaurant in Barrack Street near the hotel. It was a great choice. Every table has a barbecue in the middle so you can cook your own food. Our waitress suggested that we get the kitchen to cook it for us.
We ordered a special meal to be shared by two. It consisted of three courses including soup, a rice dish with beef and egg, and another beef dish. There were small containers for spices and sauces. It was a great experience.
